On April 29, AmCham and the Ministry of Health held a conference dedicated to investments in health "Sustainable investments - predictable results". The conference featured the Minister of Health, Minister of Finance, international experts and officials from Denmark, Estonia, OECD, as well as representatives of patient organizations and hospitals who discussed data-enabled healthcare funding models and their impact on health outcomes.

OECD published Economic Survey for Latvia 2024. According to the document the war in Ukraine has slowed the recovery from the pandemic and led to higher energy prices and disruptions in trade and supply chains, weighing on economic growth.

AmChams in Europe holds its annual U.S. conference

AmChams in Europe represented by 41 AmCham executives from 31 countries took part in its annual U.S. conference in Washington, D.C. and Miami, Florida. The delegation underscored its commitment for transatlantic partnerships while gaining valuable insights into the U.S. business and political climate.

AmCham Board meets with Prime Minister

On April 19 the AmCham Board met with Prime Minister Evika Silina to discuss the attraction of foreign investment, capital markets development, corporate governance and human capital.

On March 16, the AmCham Healthcare work group convened for its next meeting to discuss the status of the upcoming healthcare financing conference and gain an update on various topics driven by healthcare sub-groups.

The sixth EU-US Trade and Technology Council ministerial

On April 4-5, the sixth biannual summit of the EU-U.S. Trade and Technology Council (TTC) convened in Leuven, Belgium. EU and U.S. officials agreed to deepen cooperation on trustworthy AI, quantum technologies, semiconductors supply chain disruptions, and 6G.

On April 12 members met with Andris Spruds, Minister of Defense of Latvia to discuss the topics of utmost importance today, including security and defense policy priorities, strengthening of military capabilities and cooperation as well as strategic communication.
