AmCham Board sets the course

On January 26, AmCham Board and Staff came together for a semi-annual strategic meeting to discuss the Chamber's direction and priorities for 2023. The policy priorities will include: 

  • Fostering trade and investment between Latvia and the U.S. and raising awareness of economic opportunities between our countries by proactively promoting Latvia as a U.S. investment destination, exploring FDI attraction and prioritizing U.S. investment attraction and supporting activities of partner organizations (the World Latvian Economic Forum, Spotlight Latvia).
  • Improving the business and investment climate in Latvia with a focus on updating tax legislation to ease tax burden for foreign investors, supporting economic transformation and increasing national competitiveness. The topics will focus on sustainability, digital transition and human capital, fostering greater social engagement to support Latvian civil society and charities.
  • Enhancing Latvia’s human capital with a focus on promoting upskilling, education and the future of work, raising awareness of Latvia as an international career destination, supporting Latvia’s healthcare policy improvements to improve health outcomes focusing on sustainable healthcare funding, value-based healthcare, and digital health.

The Board meets twice a year outside its monthly meetings for a focused, strategic session to set the future direction and review the Chamber's performance.
