This year's World Latvian Economics and Innovations Forum, held on July 5, took place at the National Library of Latvia. The event marked the 10th anniversary of the forum, which brings together Latvian diaspora entrepreneurs and professionals from around the world to foster connections with their Latvian counterparts. This year's forum focused on key sectors crucial to the development of the Latvian economy, including biomedicine, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, green technology, smart energy, transportation, and mobility. Participants engaged in insightful discussions and reviewed the progress made in these sectors, exploring their impact on the economy.

The forum was structured into four thematic blocks, addressing various aspects of Latvia's economic development:

  • The development of the Latvian economy and investments.
  • Workforce attraction and supply.
  • Innovation in medicine and energy.
  • The role of the country's image in attracting businesses and tourists.

The forum kicked off with opening remarks from President Egils Levits, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics, and Mayor of Riga Martins Stakis. Following the opening remarks, several panel discussions featured successful entrepreneurs and professionals, including John Tully, Martin Gauss, Nils Melngailis, Roberts Grava, Vitalijs Skrivelis, and many others.

AmCham President John Tully participated in a panel discussion to explore the future of Latvia's healthcare and biotech sectors. AmCham Vice President Pauls Miklasevics moderated a session focusing on the needs and policies that will shape Latvia's energy sector development over the next ten years. These insightful discussions provided valuable insights and recommendations for the future of Latvia's economy and innovation landscape.
