About 170 guests, representatives of FICIL and 10 chambers of commerce, attended the Joint Chamber Dinner with the new Prime Minister Maris Kučinskis on April 20. Among his key priorities is attracting foreign investment more proactively, ensuring predictable tax system, fighting the shadow economy and following through the reforms in education and healthcare sectors.

On Friday, April 15th during the 3rd Annual Human Development Award of Latvia at the Latvian National Library, inspirational people and winners of the Human Development Award 2016 were announced: Zigmunds Zaļenko, Accenture Latvia, Children's Palliative Care Society and TechHub Riga Co-founder Andris Berzins.

Update of FICIL's activities

With less than two months to go, the Foreign Investors' Council in Latvia is busy working towards the upcoming High Council that will be held in May 26-27. Their work groups continue reviewing previous recommendations and discuss various topicalities.

AmCham launches advocacy policy

During the 23rd Annual General Meeting in March members approved the AmCham Advocacy Policy. In order to propose an advocacy initiative members are requested to formulate the need for intervention, identify the impact on AmCham and create the Action Plan.
