AmCham Latvia is a strong advocate of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In order to achieve its mission to build a better business and investment environment in Latvia, AmCham strives to integrate CSR values in its mission and operating strategy. We simply believe that CSR is good business, and we actively promote that by sharing best practices of our members and raising awareness in the broader society.
In 2009 AmCham adopted the statement of Good Corporate Citizenship. The goal of this initiative is to foster improvement in Latvia's business environment. The statement consists of a belief statement and corporate principles for businesses. View our Statement of Good Corporate Citizenship and its signatories.
By organizing a number of CSR related events, including movie nights with a focus on ethics, seminars on transparency and by participation in several conferences, the CSR working group has achieved its primary goals – to recognize the efforts of members and encourage other companies and business organizations to act and report on their own initiatives.
At the beginning of 2011 the CSR committe proposed to join forces with other business organizations in Latvia to promote transparent business practices and raise CSR awareness. On February 22, 2011 the first ever joint Chamber CSR event gathered 10 Chambers and over 90 members to discuss sustainable and responsible business practices. The event proved to be an impactful sharing platform for the knowledge on CSR.
