Welcome to our March newsletter!
This month, AmCham held its Annual General Meeting to reflect on the achievements of the past year, set strategic goals, and elect the Board of Directors. Congratulations to Tamer Cigeroglu, Vitnija Saldava, Dita Erna Sile on election and Sarmis Spilbergs of re-election to the Board! The newly elected Board members will serve for a two-year term, and we look forward to their contributions in driving the continued growth and success of our organization.
This month's highlights include a luncheon meeting with the Director of LIAA, where we explored priorities for economic growth and strenghtening of US-Latvia economic relations. Members also had a chance to visit Skride Heart Clinic, gaining insights into innovative healthcare approaches and a healthy life-style. Another cultural highlight was an evening at the New Riga Theater, featuring an exclusive tour led by architect Zaiga Gaile and a captivating performance of the renowned American play, The Little Foxes.

Behind the scenes to center stage

AmCham's first theater night on March 2 brought together over 80 members for an unforgettable evening celebrating history, architecture and storytelling. Attendees enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour led by architect Zaiga Gaile, who provided unique insights into the recent renovations and the building's rich history. The highlight was a captivating performance of the iconic American play, The Little Foxes, leaving the audience inspired. Read more

Members welcome new board at AGM

On March 20, nearly 90 members gathered for AmCham's Annual General Meeting to review the past year’s activities and elect the Board of Directors. In his opening remarks, the US Ambassador highlighted the vital role of economic growth in promoting prosperity and strenghtening security of both nations. AmCham remains committed to advancing a strong transatlantic trade and investment relationship, with a focus on security and defense, digital innovation, human capital, and favorable tax environment. Driving Latvia's economic future

On March 25, Ieva Jagere, Director LIAA met with AmCham members to provide an overview of her key priorities for fostering growth and closer economic ties between the US and Latvia. Immediately after her remarks, a lively discussion followed, which was joined by Dace Vanaga, Deputy Head for Strategic Investments, Department of Investment Promotion and Business Growth at LIAA. A full room of members came together at Professor Skride Heart Clinic for an inspiring event on March 27. Warmly welcomed by the clinic's co-founders, Professor Andris Skride and Dins Šmits, along with CEO Jelena Jesajana, attendees gained valuable insights and practical tips for embracing healthy lifestyles. Launch of The Transatlantic Economy 2025

The Transatlantic Economy Report features the latest insights on jobs, trade and investment between Europe and the US presenting record-breaking figures including a new estimated high of $ 9.5 or € 8.7 trillion in total trade and combined sales. Priorities for Latvian digital health

On March 6, members met with Juris Gaiķis, Director of the newly established Latvian Digital Health Center to learn about its priorities and vision. Among its first tasks are developing a roadmap for Latvian digital health, establishing interoperability and unified standards, and implementing AI with a strong focus on a patient-centered approach.
