Annual sustainability performance was recently evaluated by many companies in Latvia. We are proud of our members' achievements in the Sustainability Index 2018: SEB banka achieved Platinum and RISEBA Silver. Overall 12 Platinum, 17 Gold, 12 Silver and 7 Bronze awards were given.

As of 7th August Ms. Ieva Bloma has taken on the duties of Manager of the Alliance against Corruption in Latvia. Ms. Bloma's professional interests focus on regulatory quality, regulatory costs & reduction of administrative burden, and management of regulatory impact assessment systems. Congratulations to Ms. Bloma on her new post and a warm welcome!

Transparency International Latvia/Delna organized a four day summer school conference in Cēsis for young professionals seeking to learn practical knowledge about anti-corruption and political developments in Latvia.

The Alliance against Corruption in Latvia has received 54 421 EUR of which 6500 euro have been contributed by 3 members of AmCham. The goal is to raise 60 000 euro by April 30th and 126 000 euro by mid-June.

This year AON Baltic continued to support SOS Children’s Villages by hosting a special day for the children of Valmiera - AON Global Service Day on June 12.

Since 2011 well over 31,000 Latvian children have received free medical consultations from the doctors of Children's Clinical University Hospital of Latvia who are traveling with the Care Mobile all across Latvia.

Let's help children left without their biological parents get ready for school! The Latvian Foster Family Association kindly asks to support their annual campaign "School children must go to school!".

1000 EUR was raised in the charity raffle in benefit of the Latvian Foster Family Association, RMHC Latvija Care Mobile and SOS Children's Villages Latvia - organizations striving to promote a healthy development of children and youth and family-based care for the children left without parents. This year 3 schools: Rēzeknes preschool "Jāņtārpiņš", Riga's kindergarten "Riekstiņš" and Audriņi Elementary School were awarded 1000 EUR each through If P&C Insurance’s program “If Security Fund”. The funds are used to development projects in institutions all over Latvia.

Salvation Army General Andre Cox hosted a joint chamber lunch higgling the role and social support of the Salvation Army in Latvia. Salvation Army works with community leaders as one of the largest charities in the world providing aid to those in need.

Nasdaq Baltic exchanges now highlights sustainable bond issues with a "green leaf" on the Baltic Bond List in response to growing interest in sustainable bonds among investors and issuers.

Radisson Hotels in Riga celebrated Earth Day on April 22 together with more than a billion people across the globe with an aim to fundamentally change people's attitude and behavior towards plastic. To focus consumer attention on the issue of plastic straws and their effects on the environment, hotels took measures to raise consumer awareness that includes displays and signage in public areas, with the tagline #RefuseTheStraw.

The Ministry of Welfare announced SEB banka and RISEBA to be among the most family-friendly companies in Latvia.

For the 7th time in Latvia the "Work from anywhere!" day took place on May 25 at Jaunā Teika, square of the co-working and event space "Teikums" and brought together more around 500 event participants who support flexible working style.
