Story

How It Began

Founded in March 1993 by 27 American investors, AmCham is the leading foreign business organization in Latvia, representing over 150 members that include some of the largest international companies in the country.

When AmCham was established, the U.S. Embassy was key in bringing the members together and pushing the idea toward fruition. It was the second Chamber founded in the former Soviet Union after Ukraine’s chapter.

AmCham is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental entity fully supported by its members.

AmCham members are legal entities and individuals that support the Chamber's mission and goals. Currently, we have 151 members in AmCham, from which:
22 Corporate Contributing
74 Corporate
24 Small Business
11 Non-profit
9 Individual
11 Honorary members
2 Premium Partners – AECOM and SEB bank

AmCham Latvia is affiliated to the US Chamber of Commerce and AmChams in Europe.
