The State of American Business

On Thursday, January 10, Thomas J. Donohue President & CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce delivered the Chamber's annual State of American Business Address at their headquarters in Washington, D.C. He emphasized the importance of international trade and their partnerships and international alliances, including their essential ties with Europe. Click here to read the speech in its entirety. 

Before a record number of attendees and 64 reporters representing major U.S. and global news outlets filling the Hall of Flags, he asserted the business community's optimism for continued economic growth and laid out the Chamber's agenda for 2019. The U.S. Chamber will focus on five priorities: advancing immigration reform, infrastructure investment, and trade, as well as restoring responsible governing and fighting back against attacks on business.
