Foreign Corrupt Practices Act: Building a Culture of Compliance

Dec 09, 2020
Online
On December 9, on the International Anti-Corruption Day, we held this year's last Pan-Baltic Webinar, in cooperation with Pan-Baltic Amchams in Estonia and Lithuania. The event was also organized in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Diplomatic Security Service, as well as OSAC, and focused on the topic of the Foreign Corruption Practices Act.

This event provided an overview of the FCPA and insights into building an anti-corruption corporate compliance program and a resilient corporate culture to combat corruption and its corrosive effects. Speakers included representatives of the Criminal Division at the U.S. Department of Justice and the International Corruption Unit at FBI.

Interactive discussions focused on the FCPA's coverage and reach, enforcement mechanisms, penalties, common challenges, enforcement trends, and international cooperation, as well as guidance on how to establish and strengthen anti-corruption compliance policies, including a look at how the Department of Justice evaluates corporate compliance programs. Also, a discussion on public-private cooperation was held.

We would like to thank our co-hosts the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Diplomatic Security Service, and OSAC for putting together such an interactive webinar.
