22% increase of passengers for airBaltic

Latvian airline airBaltic has transported a total of 4 345 225 or 22% more passengers during the first ten months of 2019 than in the same period last year to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East. In October 2019, 470 358 passengers traveled with airBaltic and it was a 22% increase compared to last year.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: "In October, we have further improved our operational results with record high numbers and seen additional growth in Riga. Having such a strong role in the Baltic region helps us significantly in improving our efficiently and by using the brand-new Airbus A220-300 we offer better connectivity and more affordable prices to our customers. We are also investing in modern technologies to further strengthen our role as the number-one connectivity provider in the Baltics."

During the first ten months of the 2019 airBaltic has operated 53 458 flights. During October 2019, airBaltic operated 5 679 flights or 11% more than in October 2018. The airline's load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, during the first ten months of 2019, was at a level of 77%, but in October 2019 - 76%.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic during the first ten months of 2019 reached a level of 86%. This means that more than 86 out of every 100 airBaltic flights departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.

airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering the largest variety of destinations and convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East.
