International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced Latvian airline airBaltic as the winner of its Diversity & Inclusion Team Award, whose ceremony took place during the annual general meeting in Doha, Qatar.

They are clear evidence that the aviation industry is committed to improving gender diversity. More importantly they provide inspiration to drive even more ambitious change faster. In fact, it has never been more important as now when we need aviation to be an equally attractive career choice for women and men in the ramp-up post-COVID-19 travel restrictions.”
Overall, since 2013, airBaltic has maintained a full gender balance throughout the company. Currently, 47% of airBaltic employees are women. At the same time, also 45% of airBaltic’s top management representatives are women.
IATA Diversity & Inclusion Team Award is designed to recognize airline that has seen a tangible change in their diversity as a result of the work has been doing in diversity and inclusion. IATA Diversity & Inclusion Awards aims to recognize and celebrate the great work that is being done to take the industry into the future. Established in 2019, awards are presented in three categories and are reviewed by an independent judging panel.
Currently, the company has a total of over 1 800 employees. The company is continuing active recruitment, and currently has more than 40 open vacancies, seeking more than 300 additional employees in total.
