Cemex has announced that its operations in Latvia earned prestigious industry award for their outstanding health and safety practices. Cemex Latvia won the Latvian Golden Helmet Award, granted by the State Labor Inspectorate of the Republic of Latvia in recognition of excellent practices in work safety.
Cemex Latvia was awarded the Golden Helmet Award thanks to its efforts to prevent threats in the workplace and share its experience with other companies. Cemex Latvia's occupational risk management includes such initiatives as the Near Miss Hazard Alert System or 'risk cards,' used by employees to report and identify various risks.
The Latvian Golden Helmet Award recognizes companies that implement workplace improvements and protect their employees' health and safety on a regular basis.
In addition to the Golden Helmet Award, Cemex also received the award of State Environmental Service Green Excellence Award as one of the Latvian companies, which takes care of environmental protection on the highest level and also on its own initiative carried out a set of measures to reduce the environmental impact. The Award was received in the ceremony organized by the State Environmental Service on December 9 at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development.
We are very pleased to be part of AmCham and are looking forward to driving innovation forward in Latvia.
