EY’s corporate responsibility program, EY Ripples, is anchored in a long-term goal to positively impact one billion lives by 2030 globally, but also launched in Latvia, by focusing the skills and experience of thousands of EY employees in three areas:
- Supporting the next generation workforce: supporting young and underserved people to develop the mindsets and skills they’ll need to find and sustain meaningful work.
- Working with impact entrepreneurs: helping scale small and growing businesses that purposefully drive progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Accelerating environmental sustainability: driving adoption of behaviors, technologies and business models that protect and regenerate the environment while unlocking economic opportunity.
In 2020 and 2021, EY Latvia supported their long-term partners by organizing several charity projects. Within the framework of the Foundation "Mārtiņa Fonds", a donation campaign was organized for children with special needs. EY supported the educational activities delivered by the Association Nāc līdzās! at rehabilitation camp for children with special needs. EY also continued to support "Iespējamā misija" by helping talented university graduates become inspiring teachers and future leaders. Within the framework of the Foundation "Vitolu Fonds", a donation was made to a project aimed at helping talented young people to study at Latvian universities in the form of scholarships. Cooperation with SOS Children's Villages was continued by donation and creation of campaign to encouraging EY`s stakeholders to support the future generation.
EY Latvia encourages employee skill and time-based participation in societal, educational activities. During this period supported business case creation for International Economic Olympiad.
Another great initiative implemented by EY Latvia was series of conversations to foster an open dialogue on the future development of Corporate Governance via Delfi.lv on the topic with involvement of various business leaders.
