First data center company with PCI DSS Compliance

Jan 16, 2015
In December 2014, the European data center operator DEAC has accomplished the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) audit, becoming the first data center company in Latvia and one of the few in the Baltics that provides their customers payment card data storage, processing and transmitting in appliance with highest level requirements.

DEAC provides payment card data security and protection of systems and processes at DEAC data centers according to 9.1-9.4, 9.10., 11.1, as well as 12.1., 12.4-12.5 and 12.7 PCI DSS requirements. In practice, it means that payment card data is fully protected physically and virtually against unauthorized access, ensuring the business to sustain all that is necessary for its continuity.

"PCI DSS is a set of technical, procedural, personnel and physical security control requirements designed to protect data by ensuring all organizations securely store, transmit and process customer data to prevent theft or loss," says Zoja Antuchevic, COO of Lithuanian Office, FortConsult. "Data Centers with PCI DSS certification can assist smaller businesses such as online stores or leasing companies in saving money, receiving highly qualified service and support."

DEAC IT outsourcing services significantly eases the cardholder's data processing and reduces expenses for merchants. According to PCI DSS requirements, DEAC's data centers are equipped with a multi-level identification and authorization system with strictly- regulated processes (CCTV, biometric verification system, access card record keeping system, person access verification and control) which is completely compliant with international security standards.

Any entity that stores, processes and/or transmits cardholder data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard requirements, besides they are attributed to the entire infrastructure used in the company to process or store data. Usually it requires large investments and takes more time and effort to comply with these standards, which is why DEAC's solutions allow customers to entrust secure storage and processing of the payment card data to highly qualified experts.
