Klavins Ellex and Glimstedt & Partneri merge

The entire teams of both law firms Ellex Klavins and GLIMSTEDT & partners have joined up as of the 1st of February. In this way the newly established team is able to provide clients with additional expertise and in-depth professional experience stemming from the special profile and track record of each law firm.

The management team of Ellex Klavins currently is comprised of: Filips Kļaviņš - managing partner of the firm; head of the M&A Practice Raimonds Slaidiņš and Zinta Jansons, who are joined by Pēteris Dalderis; Līga Merwin, who has expert knowledge of competition law and regulated sectors; Daiga Zivtiņa, who has specialized in dispute resolution; Egons Piķelis specializing in banking and finance law, where he is joined by Ēriks Blumbergs; Ilga Gudrenika-Krebs boasting expert knowledge of the real estate sector, now joined by Ivars Pommers and Inita Jurka.

Ellex Klavins long-term professional expertise will be complemented by senior associate Raivis Leimanis in the area of financial transactions and restructuring, senior associate Roberts Rimša, who specializes in resolution of complicated business disputes, senior associate Kārlis Ronis with expertise in public procurement and infrastructure projects, as well as a myriad of other seasoned attorneys and lawyers.

"The main objective of the merger is to provide additional benefits to our clients. They are: the combined expertise of two strong legal teams, which complement each other and will now be available as a single team; also a higher capacity for effectively managing large-scale and sophisticated processes. Consolidation of law firms is one of the key trends in our industry on a global scale," Filips Klavins comments on the merger.

By combining our expertise in each of these areas, we considerably extend the "geography" of our services. Consolidation by both of our law firms will ensure more professional lawyers and a wider scope of services for the industry in general," Pēteris Dalderis explains.

The merged law firm Ellex Klavins will boast a team of 60 premium professionals (47 of them being legal practitioners, and 13 - administrative staff of the firm). The Lithuanian office of Ellex Valiunas is comprised of 165 employees, 95 of whom are legal counsels, whereas Estonian office of Ellex Raidla has 53 employees, 40 of whom are legal counsels.
