Novartis expands humanitarian efforts in Ukraine

Mar 17, 2022

Novartis experts are working diligently to ensure continued supply of their medicines in Ukraine, where the health of patients who depend on these medicines is their priority. At the end of March, they have delivered more than 600 thousand packs of antibiotics, painkillers, cardio-vascular, and oncology treatments to maintain supply to those who rely on these drugs in Ukraine and in the border areas where people are seeking refuge.

At the beginning of March Novartis announced their initial donation of USD 3 million that will be shared between three humanitarian organizations:

  • International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Save the Children
  • International Rescue Committee

This donation will also help people in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in the neighboring countries.

They remain committed to providing access to medicines to patients in every country where they operate. At the same time, they are careful to comply with the new international sanctions imposed upon Russia. They have also decided to suspend any investments in Russia and stop all commercial marketing activities.
