The President of Latvia becomes the Patron of Human Develoment Award

President of Latvia, HE Raimonds Vējonis has become the Patron of the Human Development Award in Latvia 2016. The President said: "The Human Development Award covers many relevant long-term development areas for Latvia, while each nomination highlights significant work to the benefit of community by a person, company, or organization. I am pleased for each and every contribution, in addition to recognizing how great, smart, and entrepreneurial people reside in Latvia!"

The purpose of the award is to promote human development, prosperity, and the well-being of Latvia's people. Nominations will be accepted in four categories: Social Responsibility, Outstanding Commitment to Education, Exemplary Contribution to Health and Well-Being and the Future of Latvia. The Human Development Award is hosted by AmCham Latvia, the US Embassy in Latvia and the Civic Alliance of Latvia to honor inspirational people and to recognize the socially responsible practices of Latvian businesses and non-profit organizations.
