I look forward to promoting stronger U.S.-Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business.

2021 marks the 30 year anniversary of the re-establishment of full diplomatic relations between Latvia and the United States of America, and the establishment of Riga Business School at Riga Technical University (RBS). These 30 years have been underpinned by open experience and knowledge sharing benefitting societies, businesses, and individuals on both sides of the ocean. Today’s realities, perhaps, more than before, require further development of the understanding of our shared values, principles, and inherent capabilities. In addition, this should be accomplished using innovative means and approaches.
On October 9, 2021, the U.S. Embassy in Latvia, in cooperation with RBS, will launch an innovative live-streamed virtual competition for high school students. The competition will take place every Saturday morning during October 2021, leading up to the Grand Finale on November 6, 2021.
The goal of the competition is to educate participants and society at large on the topics covered. The competition will be a multi-stage tournament-style live-streamed quiz competition in the English language. To facilitate broader involvement in the competition, parts of the “question bank” will be developed in cooperation with the U.S. community and alumni of the U.S. Government supported cultural and educational programs.
You are welcome to submit 10-15 questions by August 23, 2021. Find more information on the quiz, question themes, and submit your questions HERE
Grand Finale on October 6, 2021, will be the main public event for U.S. Embassy and RBS to show how much Latvia and the U.S. have accomplished together over the last 30 years (and during the last 100 years since the establishment of U.S. Latvia diplomatic relations in 1922) and to inspire young people to further global endeavors. This initiative is a countrywide competition, and it is expected that 2000 high school students from all regions of Latvia, their parents, school counselors, and teachers will be involved. For questions, please contact Elza Priede at elza.priede@rbs.lv or 2634-9393.
Membership is an attestation that we belong to the modern Latvian business community.
