RBS introduces International Foundation Program

On October 3, the RTU Riga Business School received the status of a Recognised Teaching Institution and the University of London's permission to implement the International Foundation Program (UoL IFP).

This is a unique opportunity to study a foundation course for entry into any British university, many universities in Europe, USA and Australia competing on equal terms with the graduates of British secondary schools (A-levels) and IB programs. Talented high school students will be able to combine studying in the IFP programme with studying at high school. This way, students will be trained to meet the highest academic standards while living at home.

In the program, students are expected to learn and pass exams in four subjects: Mathematics and Statistics; Economics, Sociology, International Relations. In addition, Academic English will be taught as a support subject. Apart from that, students planning to study at British or American universities will be consulted on the application process. For those wishing to get a bachelor's degree at RBS, part of the 1st year subjects will be credited.

Entry requirements for the UoL IFP at RBS

  • Age 17 or over (till 31 December 2018)
  • IELTS 6.0 (min 5.5 in each sub-score)
  • Test in Mathematics (at RBS, November 2018)
  • Interview (at RBS, October-November 2018)

The selection of candidates will begin in October 2018, the classes - in January 2019

Important dates:
1. (Optional) Free English language test on October 19. Results on 22 October by mail.
2. Registration for the IELTS till October 25.
3. IELTS prep-course November 19-30.
4. IELTS December 1.
