5 projects to drive digital health

Jan 11, 2021
Throughout last year AmCham has been increasing its advocacy efforts and cooperation with various stakeholders on issues related to healthcare. Following the publication of our vision statement on Latvian healthcare, the AmCham Healthcare work group (HCWG) carried out the following projects aiming at helping create more efficient and sustainable healthcare system: improvement of the Oncology data registry and an international Health Data Summit.

In 2021 HCWG will focus on five projects each of which will be led by a smaller work group:

1. Oncology Data Registry
The project group will work to develop a roadmap for technical solutions in order to improve the quality and quantity of data available in the National Oncology Registry.
Co-chairs of this Subgroup:
Dita Erna Sile, Novartis Baltics: Dita.Sile@novartis.com
Kaspars Losans, Roche Latvija: Kaspars.Losans@roche.com
The second work group meeting is scheduled for March 1st at 14:00.

2. Digital Health Strategy
The aim of the strategy is to improve digital solutions and deepen connections between the healthcare system, physicians, patients and other stakeholders for a more affordable and accessible healthcare.
The Digital Health Strategy will be developed in cooperation with the Digital Health Cluster and public sector stakeholders.
Chair of this Subgroup:
Kristaps Krafte: kristaps.krafte@gmail.com

3. Legal Framework for Secondary Use of Health and Social Data
The project team will develop a legal framework for secondary use of health and social data to apply them in research and clinical practice.
Co-chairs of this Subgroup:
Kaspars Losans, Roche Latvija: Kaspars.Losans@roche.com
Agris Bitans, Eversheds Sutherland Bitans: Agris.Bitans@eversheds-sutherland.lv
The second work group meeting is scheduled for February 2nd at 14:00.

4. Health Data Summit
The project team will continue driving the topic of data-driven health, based on success of the first Health Data Summit Riga held in 2020. The group will explore expanding collaboration with AmChams across the Baltics.
Chair of this Subgroup:
Dita Erna Sile, Novartis Baltics, Dita.Sile@novartis.com

5. Value based healthcare approach
The vision of the project is to transform the healthcare system so it is based on the Value Based Healthcare (VBCH) principle. VBHC remunerates healthcare providers for value delivered to patient and society. The project team will organize an event presenting best practices of VBHC.
Chair of this Subgroup:
Kaspars Losans, Roche Latvija: Kaspars.Losans@roche.com
