Scholarship for talented future attorneys

In the fall of 2014, ZAB Spigulis & Kukainis law firm (www.ska.lv) in cooperation with the Riga Graduate School of Law Foundation (RGSLF) created the RGSLF "Spigulis & Kukainis Scholarship". The goal of the scholarship is to financially support talented and hard-working Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) students that are enrolled in the RGSL LL.M. program,  and give future lawyers a chance to get better acquainted with the attorney profession by being an intern in one of the most dynamic law firms in Latvia.
ZAB Spigulis & Kukainis – law firm partners, attorneys at law Arturs Spigulis and Matiss Davis Kukainis, met while studying together at RGSL in 2003. Both partners graduated from RGSL earning an LL.M. in "International and European Union Law" and, six years ago founded the law firm ZAB Spigulis & Kukainis, located in Riga, Latvia.  The law firm is a full-service business law firm that provides consultations on all areas of business law, with an emphasis on competition law, litigation, transport law, real property and inheritance law.

Criteria for the applying for the scholarship can be found on RGSL’s website, but in short, applicants must demonstrate  excellence in course work and research at RGSL, and also must adhere to and meet the corporate values and ethics of the law firm ZAB Spigulis & Kukainis.

ZAB Spigulis and Kukainis law firm partner, attorney at law Matiss Kukainis, is also a licensed attorney in the United States (Illinois), and currently serves as the President of AMCHAM Latvia, and for the past seven years has also served on the board of AMCHAM Latvia.
