The Best New Translator of 2016 Has Been Determined

The annual Best New Translator 2016 competition concluded on 2 December 2016, and this year's winner is Ieva Tīrmane, an English language specialist from Ventspils University College.

The competition was organized for the ninth consecutive year in close cooperation with thirteen higher education establishments in Latvia: Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA), Baltic International Academy, Turība University, Daugavpils University, the University College of Economics and Culture, Latvian Academy of Culture, Latvia University of Agriculture, University of Latvia, Liepaja University, Rezekne Higher Education Institution, Riga Stradiņš University, Riga Technical University and Ventspils University College.

The winner of the Best New Translator 2016 competition was awarded with the opportunity to learn a language of choice free of charge for a whole year using the Skrivanek Baltic e learning programme, an internship at the company, and an ACME QUAD-CORE tablet from the online store www.M79.lv. The winners of the first three places received promotional prizes from Globuss bookstore.
