AmCham hosted a conference to explore the latest developments in global trade policy, featuring insights from policymakers, experts, and industry leaders.
The conference on trade tariffs addressed key challenges shaping Latvia's economy and business landscape. As global trade dynamics continue to shift, navigating the complexities of imposed tariffs, supply chain disruptions, and evolving policies has become essential. Latvia’s strategic geographic position presents unique opportunities for trade, yet maintaining a balance between economic growth and security priorities remains crucial.
The discussion explored how Latvia can respond to emerging challenges while unlocking the potential of key sectors – many of which are likely to encounter direct or indirect trade barriers. The conference also aimed to examine strategies, potential scenarios, and critical insights to help businesses adapt and thrive in an increasingly complex trade environment.
The event began with keynote remarks from Mārtiņš Kazāks, President of the Bank of Latvia, and Andžejs Viļumsons, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A panel discussion followed, featuring industry leaders and experts. The event was moderated by Liene Dubava, CEO of Nasdaq Riga.
