AmCham is an invaluable resource that keeps us up to date with business issues and opportunities.
Mantautas Paskevicius, Country Manager of Strategic Staffing Solutions International
On September 10, AmCham together with NCCL and SCCL held a meeting between its members of the tourism industry and government agencies overseeing the sector.
During the meeting a senior expert in charge of drafting the new policy document at the Ministry of Economics explained the overall long-term outlook towards the tourism industry in Latvia and rapid changes brought by the current pandemic. The meeting was joined by the Head of the Tourism Department at the Latvian Investment and Development Agnecy (LIAA). Besides the update on the status of the Tourism Development plan and currently available government support mechanisms for the tourism sector, ways to improve the exchange of information and better coordination between various stakeholders were discussed.
The next Joint Tourism working group is scheduled for October 14 at 10:00 at the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), Perses 2. It will focus on the available support mechanisms for the companies, tourism marketing plan as well as other topicalities in the current crisis-related circumstances.
I look forward to promoting stronger U.S.-Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business.
