The rise of hybrid warfare and its implications

Jun 12 from 17:00 till 19:00
Radisson Blu Daugava hotel, Daugava 1 room, Kuģu 24

On June 12, the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Riga and AmCham held a meeting on hybrid warfare and its impact on businesses at the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel Riga. OSAC Regional Security Officer Christian Shults and National Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity ISAO Executive Director Michael Thiessmeier were speakers.

During the meeting, hybrid warfare was discussed, which is a combination of conventional, irregular, terrorism, and criminal means or activities that targets an adversary. The intent of hybrid warfare is to sow chaos and disrupt society. There are many adverse effects of hybrid warfare on businesses, including uncertainty of economies and reduced confidence in investments.

The meeting also included a presentation on developments in the cybersecurity world. The importance of vigilant business protection of data was addressed. There are strategies businesses can utilize to protect critical accounts and better detect cyber challenges.

OSAC was created to promote security cooperation between American private sector interests worldwide and the U.S. Department of State. OSAC Riga Council provides a forum promoting security cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and the private sector in Latvia.

Thank you to Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel for hosting this event!

AmCham works hard to accomplish its goals and is a voice in the business community that is heard.
