I look forward to promoting stronger U.S.-Latvia ties and working with AmCham members to ensure Latvia is a trusted destination for international business.
John Tully, Chairman of the Board of MikroTik
More than 40 members and guests joined our monthly business luncheon with Talis Linkaits, Minister of Transport on October 18 at the Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & SPA Hotel, 27th floor.
The Minister of Transport spoke on increasing competitiveness and efficiency of the transport sector including Latvian Railway and Rail Baltica. As regards to Rail Baltica, he emphasized the importance of ensuring solid corporate governance and tackling some legal issues as well as the lack of both financial and human resources. It is also necessary to follow the project deadline. In addition, he mentioned a new business model of Latvian Railway, introduction of new line Riga-Daugavpils as well as implementing change management. He outlined the reform of road maintenance and the necessity to develop public-private partnership.
AmCham is a 'must-join' organization for any company of scope or international ambition.
