Our April networking event with educational presentations on the corporate governance practices and their impact on the company credit rating took place on April 23. The event was kindly hosted by our member and Premium Partner  - SEB bank at their Innovation Center.

The program also included the panel discussion on how corporate governance affects access to funding for business with Guntars Balcuns, Member of the Management Board/Chief Financial Officer of Latvenergo, Andris Grafs, Vice President of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance and Karlis Danevics, Member of the Board/Head of Credits and Risks of SEB bank. It was moderated by Ingrida Karina-Berzina, President of AmCham Latvia and Partner at COBALT. 

Experts addressed the following questions:
- What impact does corporate governance have on attracting funding?
- Stronger requirements of Know-your-customer and AML policies: hassle or benefit?
- What risks banks are assessing and how it affects your borrowing capacity?
- How balancing of financial targets with sustainability may drive future growth?

After the discussion the traditional door prize drawing took place. 3 winners of this drawing received a cabin travel case from the host.

Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy good company, excellent wine and delicious snacks.
