On March 20, members met with Raimonds Vējonis, Minister of Defense to discuss strengthening of the transatlantic bond and the establishment of the NATO military bases in Latvia.

According to Minister Vejonis, Latvia is ready to participate in international operations as well as to receive the NATO forces in its territory. The U.S. has always been a strong partner and close ally of Latvia and the deployment of the U.S. troops is crucial especially now.

Asked about the elements of hybrid warfare, the Minister explained that Latvia is ready to protect its defense system, however, much still needs to be done in order to be prepared for potential cyber-attacks.
