BEZVESTS.LV, the only volunteer organization providing missing persons search in Latvia since 2009, has found 144 people in more than 2000 search operations.  They have a team of more than 180 volunteers, consisting of telephone center staff, a thermal camera group, cynologists with trained search dogs, divers, drone operators, and search instructors, group coordinators. 

BEZVESTS.LV, has recently launched a new free feature – the mobile application “SOS Poga" (Alarm Button). A resident of Latvia of any age is welcome to download it and, in case of danger activate and send an SOS signal to relatives and BEZVESTS.LV.

How does it work:

You need to download an app, sign up and designate one of your family member or friend as a confidante.

• In case of an accident, open the application, hold down the SOS button for three seconds, and both the confidante and Bezvests.lv will receive the alarm.
• Make sure that your phone an has internet connection.
• BEZVESTS.LV and your loved ones will receive your geographical coordinates identifying your location, information about the battery level of your phone, and other relevant data that has been previously provided: for example, chronic diseases or allergies that can be life-threatening.
