Business delegation visit to the U.S.

The Government of Latvia led by Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma together with a business delegation will visit the United States from April 27-May 2, 2014. The goal of the visit is to raise awareness of Latvia in the U.S., help promote American investments in Latvia and find export opportunities for the Latvian businesses. The week-long program will include various meetings and events in Boston, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Harrisburg.

The main business areas represented will be transport and logistics, information technology and start-ups, food, life sciences and medical tourism.

The preliminary program will include:

  • Meeting with the Massachusetts and Boston City Government officials
  • Meeting with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Boston Chamber of Commerce
  • Meeting with the Boston incubator representatives at Harvard
  • Meeting with the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency
  • Meeting with the representatives of the Boston and Harrisburg harbors
  • Meetings with Latvia's Honorary Consuls in the U.S.
  • Participation at the congress of the American Latvian Association

The program for Latvian entrepreneurs is prepared in cooperation with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, the Latvian Embassy in the U.S., Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by AmCham.
