Ways to help during the COVID-19 Pandemic

During this emergency stiuation due to COVID-19 pandemic Latvian doctors and emergency services are working long hours. They take care of COVID-19 patients as well as make sure of public safety.

There are several charity campaigns which can be supported by donating or volunteering to help (pro-bono):

  • The Latvian Medical Association together with the Latvian Medical Psychotherapists 'Association and the Latvian Psychotherapists' Association provides psychological assistance to medical professionls. Read more here
  • Crisis and Counselling Center "Skalbes" in cooperation with the Ministry of Health provides online psychological support for medical staff and police officers. Read more here 
  • Ziedot.lv collects donations to provide free meals for doctors (Donations in the amount of 100% will be received by organizations that provide assistance - Hospiss.lv and Catering Latvia. Read more here
  • Hospiss.lv campaign "Table for your own" - free food for doctors and medical staff in EMA 24-hour tents. Read more here
  • Volunteer movement "Stay at home" (#paliecmajas). It is a volunteer network offering delivery of a variety of goods - food, medicine and other essential supplies - plus dog walking and offering emotional support. More information: www.paliec-majas.lv
