Aerones wins Latvian-American Innovation Award
Aerones won the Latvian-American Innovation Award 2018 for their newly developed heavy-lift drones to clean and de-ice wind turbines. Solfeg.io was announced as runner-up for their innovative music teaching application. The winner received 10,000 Euro and the runner-up 5,000 Euro and a custom made award. Honorable mentions were presented to Anatomy Next for their Trauma Simulator and SAF Tehnika for PhoeniX C.

What should be done to address demographic challenges and workforce mobility? The panel of distinguished experts expressed their views on possible solutions to tackle both social pressure and economic development in the face of demographic transition. The event was grounded on study “Countries of old men?” conducted by Assistant Professor of SSE Riga Zane Varpina.

airBaltic orders up to 60 aircraft for significant breakthrough of development
airBaltic and Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced that the parties have executed a firm purchase agreement for the sale and purchase of 30 Bombardier CS300 aircraft with options for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type. This order complements the existing order of 20 CS300 aircraft and forms the backbone of the new airBaltic's business plan Destination 2025.
