Expanding business network, giving feedback

A small group of AmCham members, representing various industries were invited to the next Member Focus Lunch on August 30 to discuss their businesses and to provide feedback on AmCham activities. Improving business ethics, increased cost of labor affecting country's competitiveness, agile entrepreneurship, and shifting focus on long-term goals were identified as topics that should be explored further by AmCham.

 
 
Coffee from bean to cup

Our member Rocket Bean Roastery hosted Business After Hours at their Rocket Bean Coffee House located at Dzirnavu 39. This was a great networking evening in the company of new and old friends with delicious coffee tasting, food, wine and the Latvian National Coffee as a charity raffle prize.

 
 
Setting the future course

The Board and Staff met to discuss the Chamber's current strategy and future priorities: maintaining transatlantic relationship, addressing issues related to the future of labor force and ensuring safe business and investment climate in Latvia.

 
 
Preparing for the new accounting law

Wonder how we celebrated the U.S. Independence Day? Watch the video.

Watch the video how AmCham celebrated the U.S. Independence Day on June 30. Around 1000 guests participated in our annual picnic celebration. Festivities included a wide variety of food and beverages, charity raffle, games and contests, American car exhibit and activities for children. In addition to various activities, 1000 EUR were raised in benefit of the Latvian Foster Family Association, RMHC Latvija Care Mobile and SOS Children's Villages Latvia.

 
 
Here's to food, shelter and better futures for children

Through a new global partnership with SOS Children's Villages, the Radisson Hotel Group aims to establish meaningful local relationships with SOS Children's Villages worldwide. All six Radisson Group Hotels in Latvia organized a barbeque event for children from SOS children villages in Latvia as a closure of the conference day within Responsible Business Action Month in June.

Welcome to our August newsletter. This summer we hosted a lot of activities: from the highest attended U.S. Independence Day picnic so far to the Board retreat, and Member Focus Lunch where our members had the chance to share their feedback. We are grateful to Rocket Bean Coffee House for hosting a fun networking event this week.
