The end of the Experience Economy?

In partnership with Tatarklubben, AmCham held another educational virtual event: The end of the Experience Economy? with Harvard Business Review author Joe Pine, Co-Founder of Strategic Horizons who explained how the book helps companies create personal, dramatic, and even transformative experiences, offering the script from which managers can generate value in ways aligned with a strong customer-centric strategy.

Economic Affairs Court to be introduced in 2021

On June 17, the Saeima adopted amendments to the Law on Judicial Power in the final reading, which provides to introduce the Economic Affairs Court as a specialized district (city) court. Read more HERE

 
 
Foreign invesors launch recommendations on economic recovery

During the last month, FICIL has continued to work on developing recommendations for the Government of Latvia for a successful economic recovery in the long-run, covering 3 crucial blocks: human resource, infrastructure and entrepreneurship. SEB, Swedbank, RISEBA, Cognizant & Latvia Tours named most sustainable companies

The following members have been recognized by the Sustainability Index 2020: SEB Banka and Swedbank achieved Platinum, RISEBA - Silver, Cognizant and Latvia Tours - Bronze. This year, SEB bank received the highest total rating in its participation history - 96.4%. The Institute for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility has been evaluating corporate sustainability and responsibility of companies in Latvia for the 11th year. The Sustainability Index evaluates company's real activity and openness to communicate with different stakeholders.

 
 
Dombrovskis: national lockdowns are affecting world trade

On June 4, during its Town Hall meeting for members, AmCham EU connected with Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President for an Economy that Works for People, European Commission who shared his insights on the COVID-19 emergency: lockdowns that are affecting world trade, hitting transatlantic supply chains and EU-US investment flows. Welcome to our weekly newsletter. Before starting the Midsummer celebrations we wanted to thank you for your enagement and activity during the past few months. This week our board met to assess actvities during the past weeks and plan the future events. We were delighted to learn that the Parliament approved the legislation to introduce the Economic Affairs Court as of 2021. Although less active in terms of events and communication, we will remain at your disposal over the summer as our work in the Health and Labor Force working groups continues.
