Call for nominations for Human Development Award
We are looking for nominations for the 3rd Annual Humand Development Award in the following categories: Social Responsibility, Education, Health & Well-Being and The Future of Latvia. The deadline for submission is February 11. The purpose of the award is to promote human development, prosperity and well-being of Latvia’s people. With the award we want to recognize the individuals, companies and organizations who have significantly contributed to human development and continue to make a difference in their communities. Latvia's economic growth expected to reach 3.3 %
According to Ernst&Young latest Eurozone Economic Forecast Latvia's economic growth this year is expected to reach 3.3 percent and only Ireland expected to surpass Latvia in growth this year.

Valmieras Stikla Skiedra expands in the U.S.
Valmieras stikla šķiedra is planning to expand its line of fiberglass and its products manufactured at Valmiera Glass USA Corp. by creating 425 new jobs at its U.S.-based production facility and investing EUR 80 million by using the company's own funds and attracting loans from lo-term partners.

Changes to Visa Waiver Program to the U.S.
Under the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015, travelers in certain categories will no longer be eligible to travel or be admitted to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program.

On January 21, about 25 AmCham members gathered to the first Business After Hours of 2016. Guests had a chance to learn about innovative tech startups and gain some significant tips to make presentations a breeze, and hopefully this event marks a start of new collaboration.
