2022
AmCham Tax Working group has created a proposal to address the disparate tax burden on foreign investors who are natural persons receiving dividends but cannot apply double tax treaty benefits due to the new corporate tax system implemented in Latvia since 2018. On March 3, 2022 AmCham addressed the Ministry of Finance with its proposal.

2021
On December 16, 2021, members launched a new work group on double taxation on dividends. The aim of this work group is to consider potential amendments to the Corporate Income Tax and Personal Income Tax regime when paying out dividends as well as to balance tax burden for foreign investors to make Latvia more attractive for both international and the U.S. investments.

The group is led by Zinta Jansons, Individual member of AmCham Latvia.

The next work group meeting will be scheduled at the begining of 2022. If you would like to get involved, please contact Ieva Melngaile at ieva.melngaile@amcham.lv.
