On April 22, finalists of the first Human Development Award of Latvia were announced. The goal of this award is to honor the people and organizations promoting human development and prosperity of Latvia’s people. Recently SOS Children's Villages in Latvia opened the new Family support center on Brivibas 197a. The support center will provide assistance to families which need a special support due to the lack of certain parenting skills.

Welcome to the AmCham newsletter. April has been a super busy month here at AmCham. The Human Development Award finalists have been announced. Several high-level meetings were held including a luncheon debate on TTIP and its benefits to Latvia, an Outlook seminar on the key cyber security issues, a meeting with the Minister of Justice to discuss the court system and amendments to the Insolvency Law. We met with a small group of members to gain their feedback on our activities and we launched a new working group on EU card payment market.
