Supporting most vulnerable groups of society

Swedbank Latvia implemented a Christmas charity donation project in December by inviting their employees to participate in the distribution of Christmas donations with their vote to support three charities: the NSUS project "Angels Post", Palīdzēsim.lv project "Let's warm hearts" and the Latvian Samaritan Association with their homeless shelters in Riga, Valmiera, and Ventspils.

BITE funds activities of Dr. Clown

BITE is fully funding the association "Dr. Clown" in December by covering 500 working hours of Dr. Clowns to support little patients in hospitals all over Latvia. Currently Dr. Clowns bring joy to their little patients, especially if they have to spend Christmas time in the hospital. This need is exacerbated by the emergency situation and the circumstances of the pandemic, which have also led to emotional exhaustion for parents and medical staff.

Luminor bank finances creation of a kindergarten

Luminor bank granted financing in the amount of 350 thousand euro to the private preschool educational institution Mazulītis Rū (Baby Roo) for the construction of a new building in Mārupe municipality. The building of the new kindergarten is finished and has commenced work, enrolling 140 pupils, thereby reducing the time of waiting in line for kindergarten for many families.

AmCham raises €2500 for charities

Rather than buying a traditional Christmas card, we decided to make a donation to our principal charities: Bezvests.lv, Latvian Foster Family Association, Pink Train Foundation, RMHC Latvija and SOS Children's Villages this year. Along with donations received through our Virtual Christmas Charity raffle on December 10, the total of €2500 was transferred to the charities.

Bringing over 4000 doctor visits to children of Latvia

Since 2011, RMHC Latvija has provided more than 40 000 free medical consultations for children in Latvia with the help of Care Mobile and a dedicated team of more than 25 doctors. This year alone over 4000 visits have been arranged. Donations are the only income for RMHC Latvija, therefore every single donation is of great importance to maintain regular medical check-ups to minimize the risk that diseases and conditions are not being diagnosed and treated early enough, or at all.

More than 700 women have been helped over past 6 years

During 2020 the Pink Train Foundation has continued to provide support for women in Latvia diagnosed with breast cancer, covering the costs of counselling following diagnosis and during treatment and/or physiotherapy. The Foundation's only income is through donations and all donations big or small will be greatly appreciated so that it can continue its mission of raising support and awareness.
