SOS Children's Villages and famous Latvian chefs invite you to various Latvia's restaurants on September 2nd in order to support their charity campaign "Take your beloved ones to a restaurant and help others to get to the school". Many restaurants will donate 10 percent of their turnover generated on the day of the campaign for the cause. In total EUR 1900 were raised for AmCham's principal charities during this year's U.S. Independence Day`s Celebration: Latvian Foster Family Association, RMHC Latvija Care Mobile and SOS Children's Villages. 585 EUR were collected in support to the Pink Train Foundation. The donation will cover 29 individual consultations of a psychologist or a psychotherapist to women affected by breast cancer. On December 14 during the 5th Annual Human Development Award ceremony, the winners of this year's award were announced: Marika Ģederte, Anna Kupre, Children's Hospital Foundation and Kraslava Mommy's Club. The Award is hosted by AmCham, U.S. Embassy in latvia and the Civic Alliance in order to honor inspirational people, businesses and organizations who have significantly contributed to human development.
