AmCham and LCCI will work closer together to promote bilateral trade and investment

On March 9, 2016 AmCham Latvia and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen the work on promoting bilateral trade and investment.

AmCham in cooperation with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) held a seminar "Unlocking the Business Opportunities: Latvia & USA". During the seminar the panel of successful Latvian companies provided insights about the U.S. market.

Latvia and the USA: an ever closer partnership in a changing world

The Latvian Institute of Foreign Affairs is looking for private donations to support the publication "Latvia and the USA: an ever closer partnership in a changing world" that would be a valuable tool about LV-US relations.

At the Annual General Meeting, the membership selected a new board. Aigars Milts of AON Baltic was elected for his first term. Re-elected for their second term were Juris Jakobsons of Citadele banka, Ingrida Karina-Berzina of COBALT and Janis Pinnis of Dome Hotel & Spa. At the next Board meeting the Chamber's officials were selected. Arnis Kakulis was re-elected as the Chairman of the Board and President for 2016-2017. Eriks Eglītis, Ingrida Karina-Berzina, Janis Meija and Eric Trusiewicz were elected as Vice Presidents.

PwC acquires BITI, a business and IT consultancy

On 23 February 2016, PricewaterhouseCoopers SIA, the Latvian member firm of the world's largest professional services network, acquired BITI SIA, a company that provides business technology-related services such as cyber security, big data analytics, risk assessment and change management on the Latvian market.

On March 1, AmCham and BritCham members gathered to the joint executive event to spend a great evening of networking, share their experience and taste delicious food prepared by Indian Raja, the host of the evening.

Encouraging Latvian companies to do business in the USA

In order to promote bilateral trade and investment between Latvia and the U.S. and to encourage Latvian companies to do business in the U.S. AmCham Latvia together with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry launches a joint program entitled Gateway to the USA.
