A masterclass on project and team management method “To change is to grow” was led by Toms Rusovs, Accenture Agile coach in Latvia. Members were offered not only an insight into theory and history of Agile, but also a practical training on Agile's Scrum project management.

RBS introduces International Foundation Program
On October 3, the RTU Riga Business School received the status of a Recognized Teaching Institution and the University of London's permission to implement the International Foundation Program. The selection of candidates will begin in October 2018 and the classes in January 2019. This is a unique opportunity to study a foundation course for entry into any British university, many universities in Europe, USA and Australia competing on equal terms with the graduates of British secondary schools (A-levels) and IB programs.

A New NAFTA
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's preliminary analysis of the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement shows "numerous wins" in the areas of digital trade, intellectual property, financial services, and agriculture, however the Chamber is still reviewing the agreement and stopped short of offering a complete endorsement.

Latvia adopts whistleblower protection law
On October 11, the Saeima took an important step towards strengthening of whistleblower protection by adopting the Law on Whistleblower Protection. AmCham strongly supported the new regulation believing it would benefit both businesses and public interests, and help promote a healthy corporate culture of accountability and integrity. We are delighted that our advocacy effort has succeeded and the Saeima has supported the Law in the final reading.
